Our Regenerative Farm

A working demonstration of complete food sovereignty. Learn from our quail operation, rabbit colony, aquaponics systems, and extensive heirloom gardens.

Our Philosophy

Regenerative Agriculture

We go beyond "sustainable" – our practices actively improve the land, build soil, sequester carbon, and increase biodiversity. Every element of our farm contributes to the health of the whole system.

  • No-till growing methods preserve soil structure
  • Closed-loop nutrient cycling eliminates waste
  • Polyculture planting supports beneficial insects
  • Water conservation through mulching and efficient irrigation

Educational Mission

Our farm serves as a living classroom. Everything we do is designed to be teachable, replicable, and scalable – from backyard operations to larger homesteads.

  • Transparent documentation of successes AND failures
  • Systems designed for educational accessibility
  • Regular tours, workshops, and hands-on training
  • Research and development of improved methods

Production Areas

Explore the different elements of our integrated farm system.

Gardens & Seed Saving

1.5 acres of intensive growing space

Our gardens showcase regenerative techniques including companion planting, succession planting, and natural pest management. We maintain over 200 heirloom varieties and save seeds from the best performers.

  • Annual Production: Vegetables, fruits, herbs
  • Perennial Systems: Fruit trees, berry bushes, asparagus
  • Medicinal Gardens: Healing herbs and flowers
  • Experimental Plots: Testing new varieties and techniques

Current focus: Developing climate-adapted varieties through seed selection

Quail Operation

200+ birds producing 150-180 eggs daily

Our quail are raised in colony-style housing that allows natural behaviors while maintaining biosecurity. Fed a custom formulated diet with kitchen scraps and garden surplus.

  • Breeds: Coturnix (multiple color varieties), Bobwhite
  • Housing: Mobile colony pens, breeding setups
  • Breeding Program: Selecting for egg production, docility
  • Products: Eggs, meat, feathers, manure

PMA Member Access: Fresh eggs and processed meat available exclusively to members

Rabbit Husbandry

30 breeding rabbits in colony and tractor systems

Grass-fed rabbits managed in both permanent colonies and mobile tractors. Our rabbits contribute significantly to soil fertility through their exceptional manure.

  • Breeds: New Zealand, Californian, Silver Fox
  • Management: Colony breeding, grow-out tractors
  • Feeding: Pasture, garden greens, supplemental grain
  • Products: Meat, pelts, fiber, premium manure

PMA Member Access: Grass-fed rabbit meat and breeding stock available to members

Aquaponics Systems

2,000 gallons across multiple system designs

Our aquaponics systems demonstrate both small-scale apartment setups and larger production systems. Perfect closed-loop integration of fish and plants.

  • Fish Species: Tilapia, bluegill, goldfish (for education)
  • System Types: Media bed, raft, NFT, hybrid
  • Plant Production: Lettuce, herbs, tomatoes, peppers
  • Water Efficiency: 90% less water than traditional farming

PMA Member Access: Fresh tilapia and aquaponically-grown greens available to members

Understanding Regulatory Reality

Why we can't sell fresh animal products directly to the public – and the solution that preserves your food freedom.

The Challenge

Current regulations make it financially impossible for small-scale farmers to sell fresh animal products (eggs, meat, fish) directly to consumers through public commerce:

  • USDA Processing Requirements: Must use certified facilities (often hundreds of miles away)
  • Inspection Costs: $40-80 per hour for on-site inspectors
  • Licensing Fees: Thousands to tens of thousands annually
  • Facility Requirements: Expensive infrastructure upgrades
  • Scale Mismatch: Regulations designed for industrial operations

Result: Small farms are pushed out of the market, reducing consumer access to local, quality food.

The Solution: PMA

A Private Membership Association (PMA) creates a legal framework for direct farmer-consumer relationships outside of public commerce regulations:

  • Constitutional Protection: Freedom of association and private contract
  • Private vs. Public: Members, not commercial customers
  • Direct Relationship: Know your farmer, know your food
  • Quality Control: Member accountability, not government bureaucracy
  • Food Freedom: Your right to choose your food sources

Result: You get access to fresh, local, ethically-raised animal products while supporting small-scale regenerative agriculture.
